Publications
The Cancerbackup Information Centre has a wide range of easy to understand booklets on most cancers and their treatments for you to take away. The information is up to date and includes practical ways of coping with cancer and the emotional effects it can have.
The booklets on individual cancers describe what cancer is, which tests are used in diagnosis and how the cancer is treated, including possible side effects.
They also include sections on the feelings people often experience and ways in which people can help themselves. A reference section suggests organisations to contact for help and support and includes a list of books which may be helpful.
In addition, there is information provided by other organisations where this complements the range of Cancerbackup literature.
Internet Access
Access to the Internet is available at the Cancerbackup Information Centre. This gives patients the opportunity, for example, to research treatments with the guidance and advice of the nurse.
